How OpenToolVault makes money
OpenToolVault is free to use. We keep the directory free by earning from a few clearly labeled commercial activities:
- Affiliate links — when a page suggests a hosting provider, VPN, password manager, or other commercial service, and you sign up or purchase through that link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
- Sponsored placements — some listings or hub features may be marked as sponsored. Sponsored vendors never pay for a higher editorial rank.
- Advertising — some pages may display ads. Ads are always labeled and never placed to mislead.
Editorial independence
Our rankings, reviews, and "what is this tool" content are independent. A vendor cannot pay to be ranked higher, earn a better review, or change how a tool is described. Paid promotions are always clearly labeled and kept separate from editorial content.
Privacy
OpenToolVault does not sell your personal data and does not require an account. We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics. Some outbound partners (hosting, VPN, and other services we link to) may set cookies or track your visit after you choose to click through to their site — that is their privacy policy, not ours.
