Do we collect data you input into tools?

We don't. All native OpenToolVault tools process data entirely in your browser. Your input, files, and results never leave your device. We have no ability to see, store, or access the data you enter into our tools.

Who is responsible for your information

OpenToolVault ("we," "us," or "our") operates opentoolvault.com (the "Site"). OpenToolVault is operated by an individual doing business as OpenToolVault, located in Texas, United States.

For privacy questions or requests, contact us through our GitHub repository or via the Report Issue link on any tool page. We do not currently appoint a data protection officer.

How and why we process personal information

We process personal information only when we have a valid legal basis. Where the GDPR applies:

We do not use Site data to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

How long we retain information

Cookie consent records: Up to 1 year from your choice, unless you clear it sooner.

Analytics data: Up to 26 months, then deleted or aggregated.

Error monitoring events: Up to 90 days, unless needed for security investigation.

Security and access logs: Up to 60 days, unless needed for security or legal claims.

Email inquiries: Up to 12 months after resolution.

Ad delivery data: Subject to Google Ads' retention practices. We retain account-level reports only as long as needed for business purposes.

Service providers and recipients

We use service providers to host, secure, and operate the Site:

Cloudflare, Inc.: Content delivery, DNS, performance, security, and abuse prevention. Processes IP address, request logs, browser data.

Google LLC: AdSense advertising, ad measurement, and consent management. Processes cookie identifiers, IP address, ad interactions, usage data.

Sentry (if enabled): Error monitoring. Processes error events, page URLs, browser data.

Microsoft (if enabled): Clarity session analytics. Processes interaction data, session recordings subject to configuration.

We do not sell personal information for money. Certain advertising practices may be considered "sharing" under some US state privacy laws. We provide opt-out controls through our consent settings where applicable.

International data transfers

OpenToolVault operates from the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. When GDPR-protected personal information is transferred outside the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on applicable transfer mechanisms including Standard Contractual Clauses where available.

Cookie consent and your choices

When you first visit the Site, we show a consent notice before placing non-essential analytics or advertising cookies. You may accept or reject each category. We store your choice for up to 1 year. You can change your preference anytime using Cookie Settings in the footer.

Native OpenToolVault tools process data locally in your browser and do not use cookies. Cookies are only used for analytics and advertising when you consent.

Your data protection rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, delete your data, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise these rights. We respond within one month.

If you are in the EEA or UK and remain dissatisfied, you may complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.

Tool data processing

Native browser tools: All interactive tools on OpenToolVault process your data entirely in your browser using browser APIs. No data is transmitted to our servers or any third party.

External tools: Tools labeled "External Tool" or "Open official app" link to third-party websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices. We encourage you to read their policies before use.

Files: Tools that process files operate locally. Files are never uploaded to our servers.

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

California privacy notice

To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) applies, California residents may request access to, correction, or deletion of personal information, or opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Contact us to exercise these rights. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.

Changes to this policy

We keep this Privacy Policy under regular review. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
