What is SVGOMG?
Scalable Vector Graphics are text-based XML documents that define geometric shapes, lines, gradients, and paths through numerical coordinates. SVGOMG serves as a visual frontend wrapper around SVGO (SVG Optimizer), designed specifically to strip non-essential structural code and metadata from these vector documents. Front-end engineers, performance specialists, and digital designers use SVGOMG to minimize asset byte counts before deploying vector graphics to web servers. The web application accepts raw XML code inputs, drag-and-drop SVG file uploads, or clipboard paste data. Upon loading an asset, SVGOMG parses the markup and displays an optimized vector render alongside code view tabs and exact file size metrics, demonstrating reductions such as shrinking a 4,200-byte raw asset down to 1,150 bytes (a 72.6% file size savings).
