What is Img Safe?

ImgSafe is an open-source media routing and storage platform that converts raw image uploads into short, direct resource locators (URLs). Designed for software developers, system administrators, and content managers, the primary purpose of ImgSafe is to strip away visual presentation bloat and deliver binary image payloads directly to web clients upon request. The platform accepts standard raster image formats—such as PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WebP—through a web interface or HTTP POST API request. Upon receiving a payload, ImgSafe stores the binary file on a target file system or object store, returning a direct, shortened URL path like https://imgsafe.org/a1b2c3d.png that can be embedded into HTML tags, markdown documents, or CSS stylesheets.
